Any chance you could increase the upload limit for Resources please
Any chance you could increase the upload limit for Resources please
Topic moved - Site Admin.
Hello there,
I have some files I have condensed into a single pdf. However it's over the 20 meg file limit for the resources section of the forum.
Can you alter it and allow larger files to be uploaded please?
Thanks
Hoping everyone is well or as good as you can be.
Richard

The filesize limit was set to 10MB. I've upped it to 21,000 KB (21MB)
Is that sufficient?

Thanks for your efforts sadly the file is 21.9 meg.
I really didn't want to have to edit it and split it down further - no worries. Thanks for trying.
Another forum I use has a 80 meg file upload limit. I thought it might be similar across the board, now I know it isn't. I will have a think.
Thanks, Richard

Hang on a sec. I'll up it to 40M.
Edit - done.
It could go much higher if required. Ultimately, it's limited by what the host allows, but below that, by settings on the server and within the script and upload form. When the site started, it would have taken over an hour and a half to download a 20MB file (and twice as long to upload) on the old 28,8 kbit/s modems, and around 50 minutes on a 56,6 kbit/s modem. It takes a few seconds on a half decent broadband connection.
Although bandwidth and disc space has increased greatly, they remain finite, so it's still sensible to avoid unnecessarily large files. Cumulatively, they put pressure on the site's resources.
