Rotating escalator Aristocrat Tic Tac Toe
Rotating escalator Aristocrat Tic Tac Toe
The rotating coin escalator on my Tic Tac Toe doesn't move as it should and I don't know why.
Maybe there is something wrong on the back side. Some part missing or just in the wrong place?
Anyone who knows?

On first look, you will certainly need to attach a spring between those two levers, situated to right of vertical bar and to right of the hexagonal cog wheel on the picture. I cannot get to my machines but I'm sure others will post pictures of the spring in situ.

As simple as that!
Thanks for your help.
It seems to be working now.

Good to see it's working now. Add pictures of front of your machine - members like pictures to see if it's maybe a rarer example model.

Re: Rotating escalator Aristocrat Tic Tac Toe
Thanks for the picture.
You may at sometime wish to rotate the handle rod to its factory position. The rod needs to be lifted slightly and rotated around 90 degrees clockwise. You will need to remove the mechanism first and unscrew the handle bolt from the inside. Once the rod is loose, you will see a locating hole for the handle bolt to screw into and it's this that will hold the rod in the correct position.
Also, whilst you have the mechanism out of the cabinet, please post a couple of pictures of the front round section of the rotary escalator area too.
Below a picture of a different model, but it shows the handle in the correctly fitted position.

Now the handle is in the right position and working fine.
Thanks again, Aristomatic!

Re: Rotating escalator Aristocrat Tic Tac Toe
Now there's only two problems left to solve.
1. Could not find an original rotating escalator so I had to buy a plastic replica which leaves a gap behind so the coin just drops right through.

Can't seem to upload a MP4 filmclip.
Is the file too big or is the MP4 format not supported here?

Good to see the handle now back in factory supplied position, May have saved you catching your knuckles in the future too! It's far more likely to find a rotary mechanism that's been converted to a simple drop down or the mechanism swapped out completely, than find a rotary machine with all the original rotary parts retained. Original rotary parts are very hard to source.
However, the majority of collectors or operators at the time merely covered the round glass window with artwork to show coin played, operator logo, or used an Aristocrat
logo. You may wish to follow this route 'til you are lucky enough to source parts or buy a complete machine in the future.
I've added a picture of an Aristocrat logo that works well in a round window. I think that your Aristocrat Nevada strip/award card are later replacements too? but look very smart, so
again can be replaced with originals at a later date, if you wish to do so. There are people on ebay and here, who I'm sure could offer to produce the artwork of your choice or a logo for the window if you decide to go ahead.

Re: Rotating escalator Aristocrat Tic Tac Toe
I will try to get the rotating wheel a little tighter so the coins don't fall through. I have ordered from England som sixpence coins which I think the machine is made for.
Right now it is played with old swedish "25-öringar" which I think is about the same size but a bit thinner.
Hopefully the sixpences can solve the problem.

The three signs/glass plates on the front of the machine I have made in the computer myself and have them printed on glass at a local sign workshop here in Sweden.
Works fine 'til I find originals.

Coin problem - Aristocrat Tic Tac Toe
Topic merged - Site Admin.
When I drop down the coin it gets stuck here (A).
I have to push down this (B).
Than (C) moves away and let the coin drop down.
I have cleaned everything inside so there must be something else that is wrong.
Is there an adjustment to be done or something else?

Re: Rotating escalator Aristocrat Tic Tac Toe
The coin badge says 6d but the coin entry hole looks to have a sleeve of some kind? It's difficult to judge from picture, but the coin carrier plate maybe was for a larger coin? The coin you mentioned is maybe larger diameter than sixpence, maybe closer to our Shilling coin? Maybe best to check coin carrier plate/25 ore/coin entry and payout slides to check sizing etc?
There's also more than one kind of rotary setup too... Most common in the UK, is one with a metal backplate with cutouts, 2 metal coin carrier plates and with a clear plastic front, that has corresponding cutouts to the metal backplate. Obviously you have all the skill to produce your own artwork!

Re: Coin problem - Aristocrat Tic Tac Toe
I didn't see you started another thread.... *Now merged - Site Admin.
Before you start making any adjustments, you need to check that payout slides are correct for the coin use. You want to adjust this part and the coin entry too. However, first check the coin is not getting stuck, as front faceplate is not too tight, or the coin is the wrong [too] thickness for the coin pathway on this mechanism...
If it's the correct coin thickness and diameter, then you can adjust a lever on the handle side of the mechanism. This adjustment will move the coin detecting arm and allow the coin to drop to the resting position, held by the spring and lever to its left. You need to adjust the lever enough to allow this, but not too much, otherwise the mechanism can be played without a coin.
The metal lever is vertical with a plastic portion on each end. The plastic sections have ball connectors. You will see a thread on the lever above the lower one, and below the higher
one, that show adjustment potential. Be very careful - these break very easily too!
Sorry, no pictures or pc to help. Hopefully others will help you with pictures.

Re: Coin problem - Aristocrat Tic Tac Toe
Thanks for your answer.
I have adjusted the metal lever as much as it goes (I guess) but the problem remains.

Right here is where the coins stops so something must get in the way here.

Shove it on Youtube, or similar, then post a link to it here.

Re: Rotating escalator Aristocrat Tic Tac Toe
If this could be a little bit more up in its initial position I think it would be enough to let the coin drop down as it should.
But I don't know how to fix it.
