Status of newly approved member posts?

Following reported issue here:

I am not sure why your post has been missed as I use the “recently listed posts” view and your post did not appear until today, second time this has happened with new members and maybe is part of some moderator approval process.

New member darkmoor replied to a post today at 1:52 pm and I approved it at 3:42 pm.
I can see it currently as fifth in the list of Active topics.
Anyone not see it?

That's because it's now been superseded by new posts, so it's further down the list (currently 8th). It would be lower still, but cait001's reply to it bumped it to the top for a while... Jamieson Mini Golf/Bowl/Match, Royal Flush, Bingo etc.

I think we can safely conclude that new posts by newly approved members are not being hidden.
We have yet to see see if the same applies to new topics posted by newly approved members.
