Tumbling Prices…

Post by cheeky »

Has anyone else noticed that slot prices seem to be on the wane and quite a few machines are not selling at the moment? Is this just UK specific and if so, does it reflect the mood following the higher price rises last year.? Thoughts for a penny… !PUZZLED!

As I say, please share, as I haven’t seen any and watch eBay like everyone……only cheap ones are trash normally.

Much cheaper than this time last year or were they just artificially inflated. I’m sure someone has the data. Probably you TF. Maybe I’m on a spoof site.

Prices being asked via FB USA are dropping. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Vintage ... arketPlace.

I've only noticed over the last few days. Checking around, I guess we are the most expensive country in Europe.
Quality will retain its value, it's the lower end of the market that will level out. This around the 4th time I've observed this since the 80s.

OK - in view of the above comments probably the wrong time to put a Circle Skill machine up for sale but I've put one in the Market on this site anyway as I need the space! (or to be honest, my wife does. dirtdog )

I don't see tumbling prices for bandits, unless they're badly restored and missing parts that are not easily available.
Jennings Chief prices have surged, as have most high end bandits.
Don't know about allwins as not my area of expertise, although I heard the large allwins from the 50s are enjoying good prices at the moment!

Working Models, and Fortune Tellers certainly haven't tumbled in price, quite the opposite.

As the year goes on do people think there's plenty of money about still to spend on old arcade games?

I had the same conversation with Steve Hunt yesterday and both came to the conclusion that evidence has not shown this, but more importantly people will not want to see investments like pensions and cash in the bank devalue seen diving, e.g. pensions and money in the bank devalue and want a more secure investment.. I suspect it will be only those who are very short of cash who need to sell and others will see assets more of a long term security…

Thinking the exact same; had a good healthy budget for a machine or two at the Elephant House, outbid on everything!

I don’t think prices are tumbling.
A Governor on EBay with 2 days to go, is just short of £2000!
Same seller has a Watling Bird of Paradise, just short of £4000! again with 2 days to go.
The Caille at £1500 seems good value and the best looking.

Okay, maybe not tumbling but most have not increased for years save for a few machines. Sega bandits for £200. Allwins for £500. We were paying those sorts of prices 15 years ago.

Prices are tumbling, because instead of being extortionate, they're merely eye watering.

I think not. A look at ebay today show the following asking prices.

Bryans elevenses £1800
Bryans Pilwin £1900
Oliver Whales £1200
Wonders £1210
1930s Allwin £700

I realise these are asking and not selling prices but it does give an indication that Allwins are no longer around the £500 price tag.

Or maybe just greed. A red Columbia bought yesterday in Cornwall for £550 now on sale on eBay for £1,900. Yikes!
