It is a Mills Extraordinary from the 1930s. A conversion for British use by Samson using the number reel strips. Also originally would have had token payout and large jackpot. Someone have given it a rainbow paint job. 🌈

Someone have given it a HORRIFIC rainbow paint job.
Good having it on old penny. Is the escalator still there?
Looks like it has the Gold Award, too.

Thanks for that guys.
What sort of value would it be in non-working condition?

Not sure what the escalator is.
These are inner pictures.

The escalator 'escalates' coins from the coin acceptor towards the payout hopper while displaying several of them on the front of the machine. This was to deter players from using slugs, washers etc.

Components of the escalator on the above machine are missing. This is very common on bandits adapted to the old British penny (1d). 50 cents was the American coin closest in dimensions to our old penny, but escalators for such high stakes were rare, and besides, British operators often preferred to do away with them in favour of a less jam-prone roll-through system. This does diminish the machine's value somewhat.

Jackpot, skill stops & gold award. That's a fully loaded machine!

And there's enough left of the escalator to complete it with a few spare parts, if desired.

Thanks for all the input. Now moved on to a new owner who I am sure will bring it back to its former glory.

Thanks Mike, I admit to buying this as I know Mike put it on eBay and Facebook forums for sale, but I was fortunate to be going on holiday to Scotland, so made sense as courier costs are crazy now.

I have three Extraordinary’s already and have one that is similar, but a non completed project. I know the colours are not to everyone’s taste, but the paint is old and am tempted to keep as is. As mentioned it has everything, with skill stops, token vendor and complete jackpot. I can sort out the escalator...

His Courier quoted £60 to South Manchester which I thought was very reasonable
from where he was located.
