Mills reel adjustment
Mills reel adjustment
Hi
Mills Machine question?
When payout fingers kick in to detect payout they hit the plates and move the reels over SIDEWAYS about 2 - 3 mm.
This looks loads when in the cabinet. What can I do to make them not shift over as much?

Re: Mills reel adjustment
That's not a lot of wear compared to some I have.
If all else is OK, I would leave well alone.

Re: Mills reel adjustment
They all move, but some reel bundles have greater movement, as mentioned probable due to wear. Biggest issue is when there is too much movement. This can cause the reels to touch other parts like the fingers or stop arms causing noise and drag. It also affects kicker operation. You can put washers of varying thicknesses onto the reel shaft, normally on the right hand side to reduce this, but ensure the correct diameter on the inside and outside for smooth operation and not to be over done otherwise it will slow the reels…..

Thank you for your reply Mr Treefrog. Absolutely spot-on solution.
The washer on the far end works perfectly and with the slight adjustment of each individual real now stops the fingers pushing the plates and reels sideways.
