Re: Arcade on tv
Always makes me chuckle this offshoot of Pritchard’s programs, as the dealers who bring in their precious items for restoration, who pay a fortune and then way more to restore them and come up with staggering values of their items. Funny thing is about 50% of all the dealers' items restored ended up in two separate auctions at Sworders, selling for a fraction of what they paid for them.
Look forward to a slot machine one…….

Re: Great Yarmouth arcade on Quest TV
they originally contacted me asking if id go on the programme, they knew nothing about the machine at all (thought it was a Mills machine because it has Mills on the glass) was originally going to be shot at the museum in Basingstoke but they switched to Norfolk and expected me to travel 300-mile round trip and stay overnight at my own expense....I declined
Re: Great Yarmouth arcade on Quest TV
We have a TV program in the U.S. called "Antique Road Show"......They travel all over the country to interesting venues and appraise items brought in by the general public.
I know one of the expert appraisers and I was amazed to learn that they foot their entire costs including transportation, lodging, and food.
Apparently, the exposure is worth the price. ROGER

Think he'd have to get a lot more than that, to cover the restoration costs.jimmycowman wrote: ↑Sat May 28, 2022 1:53 pmI wonder if the guy got 2.5k for the machine on the program.

People this program is pure bull poo
There’s a episode about 2 chopper speed way bikes lovely old things
I found a load of them in a container on a showman site in lickdown
I sold most of them to a antique dealer in Bridlington
For £325 each
They turned up with the big bearded fella on the restores
In original condition
He said he bought them for £300 the pair
So I rang my my mate who bought them
The company who film this bought them off him for £1200
The pair
After restoration they said £2 ,000. How terribly they looked after

Where have they all gone
Hi All
I have been advertising on this great site for a while to try and find a Pelham Puppet machine but no luck. Where have they all gone? Not long ago they would crop up quite often but no more. Your thoughts please.

Hi
That's cheeky.
I was the under bidder on the very expensive one that's just gone to Ireland.
Sorry, have I had pleasure of meeting you, as I do not know who you are.
