Bolands White City

Post by nosmit »

I picked up a three machines yesterday that had been stored for 50 years, 2 Allwins and 1 Bandit. I have realised that I will never get round to restoring the White City so have decided to put it for sale on the market section of this site.
I took a gamble on the Auto payout BMCo Playball. Much to my relief and the quality of British engineering a couple of thumps and the payout worked.

The auto payout BMCo machines were certainly very well made (if somewhat over-engineered for an allwin) with roller bearings used for some of the moving parts, one thing to look out for is any damage to the teeth on the brass gear wheel that supports the coin carousel. Some of the mech needs to be finely adjusted to work properly, so hopefully your 'thumps' only released ageing crud.

It's always helpful to give a clue where you are in the world.

The White City is certainly my thing. Combines two of my hobbies.
It's out of my courier's patch, and I can't face 180 miles each way any more.
Anyone coming North on the A1?
