Laughing Sailor

Post by vintageamusementfan »

Hi everyone.

I am new to this page.
I have been interested in penny arcade machines for years thanks to visiting places like Botany Bay and Southport Pier. My favourite machine has always been the laughing sailor and I am interested in making my own but in a smaller scale where you turn the handle to make it move.
If anyone could give me advice on how make the figure I would be very grateful. :)

Welcome to the site vintageamusementfan, I am sure someone will be along with some useful information for you.
Is the advice you require relating to constructing the marionette or how to create the mech to make it move?

Unfortunately Thunder's taken his videos down, but http://archersarcadia.com/web/ and https://chomickmeder.com/ still provide links to workshops and resources about automata construction, design and modelling.
