Re: "Katgit" Clown Catcher glass removal question
Nice clown!
I'm guessing the inner glass simply slides out to the right through an opening on that side. To access this, open the front door and lift it off its hinges to separate it from the cabinet.

Thanks. If it's that simple, I'm really going to feel stupid
I'll check tonight when I get home. Fingers crossed!

Indeed that was it. There was a piece of wood holding the glass in on the side. Thanks for the help!

Excellent!
For your interest - another 'Katgit' clown.
Anyone know why that name?

And here it is after a good clean and polish, and a little fine tuning. Works perfectly now.

Clown catcher with shocker
Topic moved & merged - Site Admin.
I recently acquired my first clown catcher from Robert Rowland. I know there's been a lot of information already posted on the clown catcher over the years, but can't see anything that has mentioned the clown catcher with a shocker.
I know Robert has posted a video on this machine, so I've added pictures of what is left of the shocker mechanism.
The 2 brass knobs on the front is the only visible part, but on the side of the cabinet is an extra coin slot hole. Was this in any way to do with the shock?
I've included an inside picture, of what looks like wiring for the shocker, possibly connecting to a battery.
Any information that anyone may give will be great for reference information.

Re: Clown catcher with shocker
The shocking mechanism, now missing, would have been an after-market addition. It was probably added to both attract more punters and attempt to convince the local authorities that the machine was not a gambling device but a health restorer. The challenge with a shocker is the trick to activate the current during play and disconnect it once play is over. One system was to trigger the current from the coin trapped during operation and breaking the circuit once the game was over and the coin dropped into the coin tube or the cash box. Since these are "one-off," the engineering was probably peculiar to this machine.

Thanks John for the reply, and for the information. Would the coin slot on the side of the cabinet have anything to the with the activation of the electric shock? I've never noticed a clown catcher with a coin slot on the side.

Re: Bajazzo Clown wall machines
That is quite possible, Alan. The shocker mechanism was attached to that side of the door so a coin entry to directly access the shocker would make sense. The counter argument is that the front door coin entry for the traditional game would lead players to deposit their coins in the front. If there was a side entry, there would have been some instruction for its use. Absent this signage on your machine, I am skeptical that the side entry, if that is what it is, was for the shocking device. Without some interior structure mating to the side entry, I have no idea of its purpose.

Re: Bajazzo Clown wall machines
It has been years since I've owned a Clown Catcher but I remember that mine had a token payout and a bell would ring for a successful catch..... As years went by I discovered that all the catchers that came my way did not have the bell and token features. I had obtained the machine at Munves. I am not positive, but I think it ended up in the Jim Smith collection. ROGER

Re: Bajazzo Clown wall machines
Just a bit of help if possible. I have been looking for one of these for a while. I have found one but the chap wants £1200 for it. Is this a fair price?
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance
Re: Bajazzo Clown wall machines
If in original condition, if cabinet in good condition, if it works as it should, if all mech components are there, if, if, if, etc. then £1200 seems a reasonable price
But, as badpenny says........
Re: Bajazzo Clown wall machines
