Gem or Junk???

Post by roger »

I found and then lost an old post in which 2 members were less than enthusiastic about this British Challenger.
I have spent some time searching so that I could respond with my own positive thoughts.
They seem to sell for what I consider reasonable prices. I have owned a couple of them in my day and found them to be lots of fun.
I look forward to hearing your opinions.

The other machine (as pictured) was made in the U.S. by Mills, circa1900, and is called THE CRICKET.
It works on the same "coin drop" principle as the Challenger.
Have any of these crickets flown to the UK???
Unlike the British Challenger, Crickets are no bargain. ROGER

Nothing wrong with the Challenger. Had a few, but big lumps and often in not very nice state. A stunning one sold at the last Elephant auction. Someone had really done a sterling job on it and it still sold for less than a grand.

I lied, for over £1100.
