Bargain or pretty box?
Bargain or pretty box?
Bolands bandit finished yesterday for a very low price of £262… on initial inspection it seemed a bargain, but when requesting pictures of the inside and not getting any I decided not to bid…
If you look carefully you cannot see the actual reels, which should show their edges in the windows and the graphics are odd for reels. My conclusion was this was an empty box with paper behind the windows. On pointing this out and that the weight difference to the seller, I did not get an answer, other than the back being secured solid with dowels and no indication on weight…

To be fair, if it were closer to me I would have had a go, as a mech is not tough to address and value changes …they never have doors though.
Re: Bargain or pretty box?
Is this on ebay? If so, details what description it's under please.
Thank you tammy.

Re: Bargain or pretty box?
Interestingly another has turned up on eBay, this time with a mechanism with a very large top marque, which looks like it held prizes you could win on the three bars…..I am sure one of these was discussed on here before, but could not find. Obviously you went to an attendant to get your prize, maybe a 20 Players Number 6……

It's on my favourite thre'penny bit, but look at the payout slides, or rather, the lack of them.
Something amiss here.

Re: Bargain or pretty box?
Most 3D machines are limited by the 12D payout, so this has one coin and 2 coin pays and maybe 4 for the jackpot, so there won’t be many slides. I have only owned one 3D machine with a full 20 coin payout, huge stack.
Re: Bargain or pretty box?
Do we know anything about the prize-box on top? I know Boland made a lot of different castings, but I've never seen one like that.
It certainly looks original.
(You would probably only get ten No.6!)

More like 10 "Harry" Weights.
I like machines on 3d. I have one very unusual 3d machine, a Jennings "Chinese Front". It has the usual jackpot, pays jackpot for BARs, 12 for Plums, 10 for Bells, 6 for Oranges, but the real interesting part is... it's 3 pulls for 3d (it has all the correct artwork for this set up). This gives it a generous payout, a full jackpot of 3d coins/or 20 fags, 36d (3/-) for 3 plums, right down to 3d for one cherry. and all for a 1d pull!! (even the 1 cherry pays 50% above the norm).
