Oak Manufacturing Co. Premiere Card/Gum & similar vendors
Re: Oak Manufacturing Co. Premiere Card/Gum & similar vendors
I managed to strip the machine into its parts. Found a 10 centime coin inside and the mech works on these so that puzzle is solved.
The machine had some hand cut Disney postcards in the windows by F. Nugeron. I’m guessing the operator popped these in and put some Disney trading cards in. I can’t trace the date of the cards.
The Perspex windows each had a rubber gasket around them to hold them snugly and I suspect for weather proofing which isn’t an issue for me. Any suggestions on what to replace with?
Finally I’m considering a re theme. The machine takes a playing card size card. I was hoping to do a routine teller theme, but sadly missed the recent auction of fortune teller cards. And bright ideas in a re theme which some easily available cards to pop in. It’s just for home use so won’t need hundreds of cards.

These were used as gambling machines in the UK. I have some cards left from the batch of these I bought a few decades ago.

The original scratch card! That’s interesting.

I used these on my Hi Top. Polished them up and they look quite nice.

Re: Oak Manufacturing Co. Premiere Card/Gum & similar vendors
Thanks to all your help on this one. Here’s how it turned out….
I’m waiting on some new Perspex to replace the scratched windows and new locks. I had to drill the old ones but found out there are std gum ball machine locks so a couple on their way from the USA.
I rethemed as a fortune machine. I bought a deck of vintage fortune telling cards to put in it but sadly they appear too thin for it to reliably push them out. Currently have a deck of cards in it and thinking of getting my own fortune prediction cards printed. A guy near me said he could do 100 for about £15. I just need to find/write 100 predictions!

After posting I actually found some images of fortune predictions, converted them to text and have just printed and cut 100 of them. All working nicely now. Less of a job than I thought. I didn’t consider getting an AI tool to do it though. Amazing!
