Brenner Up the Pole

Post by treefrog »

Finished today on eBay and waited till sold for £600… Unusual - what I believe to be a Brenner skill game called Up the Pole. Not referenced in books to hand… Certainly different.

I think it went for more than that.
I submitted 2 offers above that amount, both rejected.

But referenced and pictured in the Museum

The payout mechanism is the oddest thing about this game. On a win, the balls make an electrical connection to a solenoid which makes a mechanical connection between the payout crank and the hopper slide. The solenoid remains in the energised state until the player cranks the handle. If, for whatever reason, the player walks away without triggering the payout, the solenoid is going to fry. I don't understand why it doesn't do away with the payout handle and use the standard pull and break system to automatically slice out the coins. :!?!:

Don't think the museum is linked to any search criteria in the forum.

Yes worked out the balls seem to be making contact to create a valid circuit for a win...

I got a message from eBay as aying sold for £600. Who knows, as being untested and lots of electricity, decided not for me. :zapa: I guess you have one then PM.

That's right, the forum search only searches the forum... The overall site search pop-up (from top left) searches every other area. At least Up the Pole's mentioned in the forum now. Thank you for posting the pictures. !!THUMBSX2!!
