Very Rare Wonders Machine
Very Rare Wonders Machine
Well, perhaps something must be special as this very common Win A Place Wonders missing it’s locks sold today for £3200 plus commission, so about £4k
Must be the most expensive Wonders machine ever
No idea why I watched auction as there was also a Bell-fruit Cascade that sold for £950……maybe it has to do with the number millionaires on the Isle of Man, sold in the room at Murray’s auctions. Also getting it off the island would cost a few quid as well……
I love these crazy auction results as the next one will sell for £500

I too tuned in and could not believe what I was watching. Must have been two very enthusiastic people who didn’t know the true value perhaps??!

My Dad had a saying, "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing", in this case a danger to your wallet!

A little learning is a dang’rous thing;
Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring:
There shallow draughts intoxicate the brain,
And drinking largely sobers us again.

Ok.....Ok.....I'll sell my "Win and Place" for only 2,000 pounds including a bag of 1D's. I'll even pay shipping.

Re: Very Rare Wonders Machine
Like we always say on here it all depends on who is in the room and wants it, I watched a programme the other night (yet another auction house variant) The same pintable as the one used by Elton John in the film "Tommy" was up for sale, (not I think the actual one BUT it was signed by Elton) .
There happened to be two multi-millionaires in the room (no one said these two were very rich but I happened to recognise them) between them they bid it up to (if I remember correctly) £65,000 because they both wanted it as a showpiece when it would have gone for aprox £30,000 had only one of them been in the market for the machine.

That same pinball machine was on eBay for months about a year ago I believe at around £15000. Kept being relisted and didn’t appear to sell. Not sure if the guy on the programme was the same owner or not. He did ok though!
