Payout Slides Sticking
Topic moved - Site Admin.
Hi all. Be grateful for some advice please for a newbie. I have an Aristocrat Grosvenor which was working fine, but has now stopped paying out. The payout slide at the bottom doesn't return. First couple of times I was able to return it with a gentle push, but now (without wanting to force it) it won't return. Any advice please? Thanks.

Thanks. It was that, although now it is sticking again with no jammed coins. I'll try and upload some photos.

You need to remove the slides by detaching the springs behind them. Once removed clean them in warm soapy water. Reinstall them in the same order they came out.

Thanks for this. I managed to reset the slides, by manually setting the reels to pay out, and then re started it and that seemed to reset the slides which have now been fine. If it happens again I'll remove and clean the slides. Thanks again.

Never oil or grease the slides! You can dust them with a little graphite powder if necessary, but oil will always stick them in the end.

Re: Payout Slides Sticking
I agree with all earlier posts, but consider the original coinage, probably 6d, or the current penny. New shiny pennies are notorious for causing coin jams as they are thicker than the earlier copper or copper plated ones. They also have very crisp edges that don't slide as easily. Another issue could be the lower slide spring has gone weak or stretched, as this is the most used slide. Possibly change for one of the other less used ones? Try loosening the 4 hold down screws on the top plate a quarter turn, if that cures it, a spring washer under the screw head might give a bit of flexibility to the tension.
