Hello from Atlantic Canada
Hello everyone,
I have been collecting and restoring old arcade cabinets from the '70s and '80s era. My most recent acquisition was a Duo Mat from an auction house. Unfortunately, the cabinet was missing as well as a few internals but the good news is the front glass is still intact and in good condition. My hope is to tear it down and clean the mechanics and build a new cabinet for it. Not ideal but I doubt I can source an original cabinet here in Canada. I'll likely be posting in the marketplace the missing parts I need for the inside, mostly coin mechanism/acceptor from what I can deduce.
Regards,
Lorne

Welcome to the forum Lorne!
Unfortunately I'm not a collector of such machines or woodworking experienced. however, I'm sure others more appropriately experienced in these areas will be along shortly to assist you. Pictures of what you have maybe of assistance to them? You can post images here.

Howdy, I'm in Ottawa. Duomat cabinets might not be an unreasonable ask. There a bunch of European slot machines in North America that get no love, so if you put out feelers you might be able to find one for cheap. Chances are you'll find a non-working one. Working, then tend to sell for $200-350 so might be worth your while to check for one on various forums for Canadian collectors.lgallair wrote: ↑Mon Oct 16, 2023 11:53 am Hello everyone,

Hi and welcome on board.
I've rebuilt a few Duo Mats in my time. Sadly their mechs don't seem to be based on others, so parts are rare. Also they're cast from Monkey Metal which needs to be examined to ensure no delamination.
You already have the most sought after bit, the glass.
My recommendation is to purchase a complete one without its glass, they go cheaply. Swap across the glass and dismantle yours for spares.
