Re: Jamieson/Streets et al. Snap bandits
I had one of those 20 years ago.
Just fit any old leaf/micro switch, you may have to jiggle it around a bit.

Re: Jamieson/Streets et al. Snap bandits
The switches were made by Crouzet, there are some on Ebay at the moment that could be made to work, you will need to remove the roller first. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185878234169 ... I have a similar problem to scorpa163 in that one of the leaf switches that is activated by the drum is broken.
In 2022, moonriver said that he had some, is that still the case?
Otherwise, I will look for a pinball leaf switch as slotalot suggested.
Re: Jamieson/Streets et al. Snap bandits
I was contacted by another slotty last year with the same problem.
He replaced all the micro switches (many were broken) with some he purchased from Amazon. But he did not give me any details.
I can email him and get further info.
See photo.

Re: Jamieson/Streets et al. Snap bandits
Thanks for your suggestions. I have looked online for suitable leaf switches with no luck so the best option seems to be to replace the leaf switches with micro switches as suggested. Scorpa163, the installation you showed looks good so if you could get any more info or put me in touch with the builder that would be great. Thanks again.
Re: Jamieson/Streets et al. Snap bandits
Not sure of the size you need but there seem to be lots of leaf switches available in USA - less so in UK but https://www.mr-rcworld.co.uk/shop/searc ... eaf+switch does have one.
Re: Jamieson/Streets et al. Snap bandits
I’ve emailed the person who built up the new set of switches, as per photo.
I’ve asked him to contact you to try and help you.

Hi the snap machine in the pic is mine.
Couldn't find matching switches so replaced as seen.
They are mounted to original tilt plate so if wanted to go back to original it's easy.
New switches work mint.
Pays out right every time.
Easy to make just a bit of fettling to get working.
I will post some pictures later for you if you want to try.

Hello Crispin,
Thanks for posting.
Inspired by the picture of your machine, I have now bought some micro-switches from eBay.
This afternoon, I mounted a couple onto the switch board as a trial and tested the operation against the drum with no power on.
All going well so far.
I'm planning to solder them in tomorrow and test them "live".
It's interesting to see the variation in these machines.
I don't know how long they were in production for, mine is dated 1971 and the graphics, to me, look more dated than yours.

Re: Jamieson/Streets et al. Snap bandits
Do we have a timescale for production of these machines? I always think of them as part of the flurry of new games which came with the introduction of the New Penny. (Brenco Heads & Tails was another).
