Rubber bump stop
Rubber bump stop
Does anyone know where I can get one of these from, or if not possible what people have done to make their own?
It’s from a Caille Commercial.
All help appreciated.

Re: Rubber bump stop
What's the outside diam? I think 'rubber mushroom, plug/stop/bumper' are the keywords. Otherwise you might use some solid rubber cylinder for the body attached to a 'small round rubber appliance foot'.

Re: Rubber bump stop
Somewhat like the rubber mushrooms they used to mend punctures in tubeless tyres with until they changed the law regarding it and vulcanising.
I saw one once at Coventry where the vendor had used a couple of tap washers stuck together and then chamfered to shape. Also of course they have a hole in the centre to fit a stem.

Thanks for the suggestion. These are small as the bigger diameter is 22mm.pennymachines wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 8:08 pm What's the outside diam? I’ve bought a couple of rubber bonnet stops for a Honda and I’m hoping they can be shaped as they fit the dimensions I need.

Re: Rubber bump stop
I have always cut an old flexible rubber to shape and it appears to do the job, however, if you have a 3D printer or know someone with one, flexible rubber filaments are obtainable (TPE filament) so any shape/size could be printed to suit the machine in question. Model makers often use these filaments for producing rubber tyres.
