So I now remember the two machines in the Davenport collection ( Cutting a Woman in Half and Indian Fakir) came from John Gresham's collection, sold to Roy by Pat Gresham as I was there when he came to look at those and a few other non coin-op pieces.

I have just seen another Samson 'cutting woman in half illusion' on my travels at Marvins Marvelous Mechanical Museum in Michigan
so they did make more, and experimented with the Peppers Ghost illusion quite a lot.
Similarly Darren's 'Haunted House' model, and Rye's 'Smokey Joe' are other examples.

I thought this had been posted on here, but cannot find. Maybe it was a Facebook group.

Anyway, interesting conversion of a Novomat Gunther Wulff machine with a theme around the use of Crystal Meths I understand.

Purgatory by Simon Drake from House of Magic….. Shame not in landscape as it’s great. !!THUMBSX2!!

It's just a Kraft Aladdin re-cased.
Too many embellishments for me.

Just seen the YouTube video of the Novamat conversion, posted by treefrog on 25/02/24 - somehow I missed it at the time it was posted. I have to say it's very impressive, given the very small scale - there's certainly a lot of detail crammed in, although I was a little horrified at what it looks like that bloke is doing to that poor ostrich. Do we know the person responsible - is he a collector? Has he produced any others?

Portrait was more than enough for me. !OMFG!

Simon Drake's YouTube channel includes several of his automata.

Totally unnecessary to tart up the case like that. It's beautiful by itself, as-is.

It's built into the big French crane cab John, just like your Hells Kitchen, and like the Bolland Haunted House in the white painted cab.
