Mills Black Cherry not paying out
Re: Mills Black Cherry not paying out
I should have mentioned that I tried stopping the clock and lining up a winning line but it still didn't pay out.

1) That is the trip lever, blue arrow.
2) Post an identical photo to this of yours. It's the vertical fingers showing the pivot point, and reset bar. It's taken from the same side as the handle looking towards the reels.

Re: Mills Black Cherry not paying out
Thanks very much BP. I've removed the trip lever. Not tried the machine again yet.
I've tried to get a photo of the area you show but there is an angled bracket / mechanism in front of it secured by two screws, one of which probably needs a vertical lever removed to get access to it.
I can see there's a horizontal lever attached to the angled bracket. Maybe that is the reset lever? It has a small metal peg I can push down and which resets when I push to the right the L shaped lever with attached spring that comes off a rounded tag that pivots off the bottom of the bracket. I'm trying my best to explain it!

I think the picture showing the partial release of the slides, that lower slide visible I don’t think is the safety slide….

Re: Mills Black Cherry not paying out
It looks to me like there's a transit clip holding the rake of vertical fingers locked. Which means on the fourth click none of the vertical fingers will release, ergo none of the horizontal fingers move, so none of the slides release which all equals no pay out.thornebt wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2024 8:50 pm Thanks very much BP. Investigate that next.
It looks to me as if the pivot hinge right next to the spring is the back of the clip that needs to be released. I reckon that will allow the fingers and slides to move.

Re: Mills Black Cherry not paying out
Thank you. The lever indicated by the screwdriver in my photo moves the whole of the lower part of the mechanism up and down. Should this be in the downwards position against the springs (as shown) or horizontal please?
I've stopped the clock and lined up three bells on the win line. The top of the second (from left) vertical lever is into the hole in the first steel disc (LH reel). The other levers are pressing against the disc. The bottom of the vertical levers are as shown in the photo - a long way off moving the horizontal slide levers.
This round bar as indicated by screwdriver is clearly stopping the vertical levers from moving very far.
I can't see any way of moving it though!

Re: Mills Black Cherry not paying out
I'm an idiot! I've now disengaged the transit lever and the bar has moved allowing the vertical levers to move much further. I don't know why I couldn't see this before!
I'm hopeful the machine will pay out now.
Still not sure about where the lever should be that moves the bottom part of the whole mechanism. Either horizontal or in down position against six springs.
Thank you again to Bad penny.

Re: Mills Black Cherry not paying out
The lever you're talking about now, is a device to allow an assistant to refill the coin tube without removing the mechanism and tipping them down the tube.
I can't remember if it should be up or down. Many of them got removed as it was just something else to confound and confuse. It detaches the play, so coins go straight to the coin tube without engaging the game. It's only a 50:50, so trial and error will show you.
So are you saying the transit hook is now disengaged and the vertical fingers are now free to enter the pay out discs allowing pay out to function?

The horizontal lever you're on about should be in the up position. Better still, remove it altogether.
Re: Mills Black Cherry not paying out
This is definitely my last post for today! I've moved the lever to the right that moves the transit lever up. However, when I operate the machine the transit lever drops down and engages with the round bar that stops the levers from moving towards the reels. If the lever pivot was a bit stiffer and it didn't swivel so easily all would be fine! Maybe I'll cable tie it up.
Thank you. I'm sure I'll never need to use the transit lever so am going to just keep it up with a small cable tie.special when lit wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2024 12:52 pm The horizontal lever you're on about should be in the up position. Better still, remove it altogether.
