Re: Bonjour de France
I challenge anyone to name another internet group that would take the time to help a fellow sort out problems with his slot machine, all the while translating the individual's questions from French to English. PennyMachines is unique in many ways but the knowledge and generosity of its members makes it rise to another level. Well done, Mates, well done indeed.

This is my first acquisition. I did not know these machines at all and it is a small challenge that I set myself.

When it comes to languages, I don't speak French, my Spanish is still quite good, I'm getting a grip on English but my Gibberish is really very good.john t peterson wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2024 8:02 pm I challenge anyone to name another internet group that would take the time to help a fellow sort out problems with his slot machine, all the while translating the individual's questions from French to English. Don't forget john, we have had years of practice translating posts from American to English.john t peterson wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2024 8:02 pmI challenge anyone to name another internet group that would take the time to help a fellow sort out problems with his slot machine, all the while translating the individual's questions from French to English.
merci

I have 2 small questions:
Does the cylinder used for the correct operation of the arm have to be disassembled and greased?
I suppose that the black ball at the top of the arm is glued?
Thank you

Re: Bonjour de France
No problems.
The pneumatic damper or air pump stops the handle from returning too quickly and noisily when the player lets go of it.
If there is evidence of the handle slamming back too quickly then it's worth attending to.
Most handle balls are screwed on, but after 60-80 years don't expect it to be an easy job to separate them again.
You might try placing the whole arm in a freezer over night. Then in the morning boil a pan of water and place the end of the handle with the ball into it. The thermal shock is likely to break the seal between the plastic ball and the metal handle, making it easier to unscrew.
Good luck

By the way, what is this part called in English?
