Bollands Oracle

Post by JC »

John Peterson treated us to another of his fascinating stories in issue 44, this time relating his acquisition of the rare Bollands Oracle. Here are the pictures, including two views of the mechanism which will almost certainly be unfamiliar to anyone other than the few who actually own one of these machines (and they are very few)!
Thanks again John.

On this Oracle the answer window seems to be blanked off. When the game is played, can you see the YES/NO answer?

The pictures are misleading. The answer window is glass and the arms with the "Yes" and "No" come down when the coin is captured in one or the other, and are clearly visible in the window viewed from the front of the game.
