Pipe dream
Pipe dream
As a child I dreamed of running a penny arcade and playing the machines for free. My other choice was fireman but that went out the window when I burned my fingers roasting marshmallows.
After reaching adulthood I decided to become a stockbroker which offered greater financial rewards. Now that I enjoy penny machines as a hobbyist, I sometimes wonder how operators make a living from some machines that have limited appeal. It must be rather costly to keep replacing outdated machines.
Take the shock machine as an example... How many times does the average customer want to get zapped? Also, it must be tiring to keep watching a guy in a box get his head chopped off. Also, what is the appeal of getting sprayed with stinking perfume or watch your priceless machines get destroyed by a bunch of kids? And how about those seaside landlords who charge unconscionable rents.
I suppose it all comes down to the pride in running a family business.............ROGER

Re: Pipe dream
Now that would be a great idea seeing as the Little Stockbroker is a predictable future pay machine.
Re: Pipe dream
I was elected class dummy but I am not that stupid............
You want me to stand behind a player of a predetermined machine until I have a sure win due. This should take about half an hour assuming the other player leaves at the right time and I don't get thrown out for "card counting".
It works out to a wage of about 10 cents per hour............OUCH !!! ROGER
