AAM - Will you be re-subscribing?

I have repeatedly attempted to get in touch with Steve Hunt, but have received no reply to the emails which I have been sending for some six months now..

I have enquired about a refund of my subscription, but have not and apparently will not receive one. If this changes, I will post the news here.

Essentially, Steve Hunt has shafted all of us.

I check Steve's web site on a regular basis as its still on my favourites been on tonight and it looks like the site has shut down. I can't say I'm surprised Steve is probably pi**ed off with the emails he's getting regards overpaid subscription fees. I think if there are any future AAM auctions I personally would not want to be lining Steve's pockets when I am still owed overpaid subs.
When i get the chance I'm going to visit his pier demanding free beer / sandwiches / whatever to the tune of over paid subs.

Yup it has gone. A very sad tale. Has anyone had contact with Steve? I have been reliably informed he will be holding another auction in August 2005. Watch this space!

I read somewhere on this site that the last magazine was February. I was beginning to think I'd been forgotten about. Pay x no. of pounds and have a auction catalogue sent. A letter recently tells me download off the internet as too busy and can't make no money out of the magazine. Do we get a refund then? Or maybe were all share holders in Steve's pier.
I realise this comment may ruffle some feathers but I must be saying what a lot of people think.

I have to reluctantly agree with you. Cannot help but think that subscribers frustration with lack of a magazine is going to also impact on the AAM auction...which I think must be a money maker. Entries were notably down on previous years and presumably the entry of the private collection (working models etc.) and the presence of the Bryan's Magic machines and Tick Tock really made the difference. Truthfully, the magazine was in an established set out format and didn't have too much in the way of editor articles generally, so it's hard to see why it couldn't have been published (if this is totally incorrect, then the publishers can't blame subscribers from trying to make their own judgement on what could and could not be done). It also makes one wistful for and appreciative of John Hanson's efforts with his mag...which unfortunately seemed to have been thwarted. As to being a shareholder in a pier...er, not thanks; me thinks that 100 year old cast iron set in the sea would not get most people excited (thought I admire the efforts of those that try!).

I agree. Although Steve has no doubt done sterling efforts in restoring the pier, the fact is that I paid £36 to receive 12 issues of AAM, and if AAM can't keep to their part of the bargain, then I want my money back.

Having just checked, my last issue is dated February 2004, so it seems unlikely that AAM will appear again.

The order form is still online but I think we can safely conclude this is the end.

Big question is, does anyone actually still send in subscriptions in response to the on line advert! Steve, when you read this, why not update your web page, or even respond here and just let people know what's happening....you know we care

Steve is leaving himself `open` and it could be said, he is taking any new money under false pretence. AAM WAS GREAT! If it is the end - OK,.I would settle for some back copies..STEVE GOOD LUCK WITH THE PIER.... but don`t forget the subscribers.
