I'm trying to work out your diagram but getting nowhere with it, what does n/O and n/c mean?
Should the voltage be ac or dc on the relays? There is no dc anywhere just ac which reads 30v

OK.
Purple wire from start-stop button, to coin switch & then relay No. 6.
There are four tangs on the right bank, you need to solder the wire on the front tang as per the the very poor attached sketch.

n/o means normaly open contact, n/c means normaly closed contact, this is with no power to the relay coil.
the power to the relay coils will be DC,

the power to the relay contact sets will be AC or DC depending on what it is switching??

I wish this machine was on the bench infront of me so I could see it all in one go... :o

as the transformer is only giving out about 12volts I am at a loss to see where the 30volts is comming from?????
somwhere on an other page you said somthing about a resistor??? can you get a photo of it please, I am wondering if someone has used a resistor to drop the mains voltage??? there should be no resistors anywhere on the machine..

now the penny is starting to drop "pun intended!!"

that should not be there at all and needs to be removed.

then connect the loose wire from the transformer to the tab on the rectifier, (see attached photo)

then check to see if you have a DC voltage coming from the rectifier via the small red & black wires.

Right switched it back on only getting a crackle now and again
Now between red and black wire I'm getting 23.8v dc and between black and the fuse 12.2v dc

OK...

disconnect the small red & black wires from the rectifier output terminals (make a note of were they came from you may have to put them back at some point)
then switch the power back on and let me know what happens.

are you still getting 24v DC from the rectifier??
also could you tell where the crackling was coming from??

Crackling seemed to be coming from transformer, 12v to the fuse by the blue wire and 24v from the pole where the small red wire was connected

Might just of been excited because it was working again lol

from what you have told me it sounds like the rectifier is on its way out, this is not uncommon given its age, I would recomend changing it for a modern silicone rectifier, once you have the DC power stablised you will have a better chance of sorting the rest of the problems out, if this is something you want to try let me know and I will send you a link to the correct component on Ebay.
