Carters' Steam Fair

Post by JC »

I featured Carters' Steam Fair in issue 15 of the mag., and I shall continue with part 2 in the Sept. issue. Here are the pictures from the July issue, which were taken by me back in the 1980s at Blackheath.

In April's edition of Old Glory there is an article on Carters Fair: issue no. 242 April, 2010.
It shows the fair being prepared for a show at Pinkney's Green near Maidenhead, making it 30 years of the fair at that site.

Just seen an allwin on TV - not sure what type it was. LJ Rich, the BBC QVC presenter was being interviewed in I think her own recording studio and there it was just sitting on the floor behind her. Oh well, it may be another 25 years before I see another allwin on TV. I best go back and sit in front of the screen with my flask of tea and 24 pack of assorted crisps - well, it beats train-spotting !!
