1957 Dale Engineering Burp gun / Cops and Robbers
1957 Dale Engineering Burp gun / Cops and Robbers
Finally made some more space to dig another treasure out of storage.
Thought some of you might like it.
When purchased, the machine gun had been torn off the game but I was promised it was there somewhere. Almost two years later the machine gun was finally unburied, to my relief.
Without the gun it was pretty worthless so I dumped it in storage. It's time's now come.
The wiring look had been hacked to pieces and the gun literally torn from the gun stand but I've managed to work out where they all went and re made many of the missing pieces. I still need to rebuild all the stepper units and assemblies in the target section and respray the cabinet but it's well on its way.
Hopefully this works:

A rare and unusual game - well done in saving it. Must be the only one left surely.

Our very own Slotalot is Stuart Dale ...... a poor attempt at humour (as usual) on my part.

Thanks and there wouldn't be too many floating around specially here in Australia I know the company I got this one off had two and parted one out to keep this one alive. I know of a couple In the USA aswell.
Slotalot is a very clever man if he designed this and pretty old as well.badpenny wrote:Clever lad our Stuart.

First thing that struck me about this machine is the theme.
So there is this saloon in a public street owned by a Mr Crook, pretty young ladies from good homes appear to be using the upstairs rooms to change their underwear, you then spray the whole building with machine gun fire for about 30 seconds apparently just for the fun of it.
I'm surprised it wasn't a much bigger success.

Hahaha - bad guys pop up in the windows, that's what you're shooting at. The mechanisms are clogged out and don't pop out as far as they should.
Sorry about that. lol

Spent some time on Crook's Saloon.
Stripped the cabinet. repaired any damage and got it into its first coat of primer. Also pretty happy to have found the original artwork under the 50 other layers of paint.

I love these big 'pre-video' arcade games. I suppose their size has led to them being broken-up rather than pushed into a cupboard out-of-sight.
I used to play one called 'loony shoot', although no one else remembers it.
I'd love to see these games again. keep up the good work!
