Watling Scale

I have just purchased a Watling 400 scale. It’s all complete and mostly working. I need someone to service it and get it working correctly. Anyone out there who can do this or advise?

Thank you for your replies, I have been in touch with the American dealer and they are going to send me a manual. I have had a play with the scales and they seem to be working as they should, they just need a good clean which I am starting to do. They will need calibrating and possibly a service so if you know anyone who can do this then please let me know. I have also ordered a top marquee for it so will post pictures when it’s fitted and cleaned up.

My experience with counter balance scales over my 50 years using them at work (well 35 in fact, as the last 15 years we switched to digital) would lead me to think you should easily be able to calibrate them yourself unless they have a problem in the works. It would have been designed for the operator to calibrate. The key is to make sure it's standing dead level (usually a spirit level somewhere on it) before you set about calibrating it.

Finally finished working on my scales, they just needed a good clean, a bit of oil and slight adjustment, which was good as anything more technical and I would have struggled. They work great, the only slight niggle is that the your answer here plate doesn’t quite close fully but I can live with that. See photos.

Even nicer is that beer fridge, so much more important, need to get myself one of those... or even better fill the Vendo with beer
