It was the only one I bought, not my normal thing, but loved the casting, which were hidden by plyboard with original coin cups. I guess hidden when changed to another coin. Seen another one posted by Daveslot years ago below. Anyone know who made these? !PUZZLED! In fact the only thread on monkey climbers is the same one below: If not dogs, why not monkeys?

Not exactly politically correct (as not monkeys that are climbing!), but worth double. Nice piece for home collection, but problematic to operate.

What's the difference between the Shooting Star and a Challenger?

I understand it's the motif cast into the spiny bit at the top.

Well apart from the nicer motif, the main difference is the front alli casting frame that is hinged at the bottom to allow easy access to clear jams.....

Well, unloaded and will need to tinker on this beast, looks very original. Lots of old foliage which they used for the small trees laying around and lots of lead Britains animals secured to the base. The whole back is tin and looks very original. The climbers are very heavy and, I assume, are lead. Hopefully will replace the later coin slide for 1D and get the coin return working again....have yet to find maker's name yet, but not investigated internals yet....

The Climbing Monkeys is a machine that would drive me insane - what was the artist thinking!???? :!?!: The painted palms trees are to scale but the girl is the 40ft tall? :o Years ago in the US I was going to do a deal with a friend for a 1928 K.O. Boxers machine, classic all mechanical game. But after spending some time with the couple of examples he owned I changed my mind. The deciding factor being the background artwork out of scale!

You obviously have forgotten the classic Hollywood B movies like attack of the 50ft woman  to be honest, fairground and old amusement art is unique and should never be in perspective, accurate or precise, that is what makes them.....I also collect fairground art for this reason.
