Re: Aristo 4 reeler advice please

Post by bill gates »

My hoots mon 4 reeler has problems with the payouts. Can't figure out which part tells the machine how many coins to pay out. I'm guessing it's to do with the circuit card that has a row of resistors fixed to it. I checked all the connections from the mech to the plug and mine all perform as they should. From that pug to the top electrics will be my next challenge. Would love to get my machine working properly. One day.......

Here's what I should have been saying on this thread ..........

Searching back through this forum, this has been a known issue since at least Summer 2013 ...... could it be the same machine?

That thought had crossed my mind a few times, however I bring good news that after nearly two weeks of tracing wires and components it is now alive and working. !!YABBADABBA!!

But...
Not 100 percent :(

Cool, sounds like you're getting somewhere.

I know it's not the same one I had a shufty at for one of our members 4 years ago because that one had traunches of electronics completely isolated from others. Also the collection of gubbins in the top box were either loose or missing.
Way to go %|%

Thanks bp,
It's all working except the 30 and 50 payouts. 10, J, Q, K should give 30 coins but it gives 200, and four of a kind should give 50 coins but it pays out the same as three of a kind.
I will get there but running out of things to look at.

So pleased you saved it, I would have loved to have got it working but the electikery was beyond me. Unfortunately you do realise this makes you the forum's expert on this type of machine.

Paul, I think I know this machine inside out now. Started off with a few duff micro-switches, then moved onto a couple of duff diodes which cost 99p for 10 and then a new relay which cost £7 (as one of them was 50v instead of 24v), then after all that it still was dead so a bit more testing found two blown capacitors which cost £1.20, so all in all about a tenner to fix and a lot of time but I have enjoyed doing it and have to say for back in its day it is ingenious how it works with no circuit boards etc, very good basic electronics and the payout is brilliant. I will get to the bottom of the non-paying for 30 and 50 coins eventually.

Never having many Aristocrats I'm not too clued up on them, but did they all have to be on some sort of stand?
This one has a hole in the bottom for the coins to fall through once the hopper gets too full, but nowhere for them to fall into?

Hi widget, can you post a picture of the pins in the top of yours please? I had another look at mine and got some of the payouts working as they should. But a few not having it. I now have.......
1x ten pays out 3
2x tens not a sniff
3x jacks pays out 10
3x queens pays out 13
3x kings pays out 10
3x aces pays out 60
3x 7's nothing
4x jacks,queens and kings pays 50
4x aces same 60
4x 7's nadda

This is better than before. The payouts with my previous picture must be wrong. I know swapping them coloured pins about will affect the payouts.

Here is mine working but with no 30 or 50 payouts, but I am suspecting possibly switch issues which I will investigate.

Well done, was the final fix a relay. I recall Dave fixing one of these and posting details of the alternative relays available some time back..
