Re: Aristo 4 reeler advice please

Well it's finished and, as expected, the electrics are not good. Like I said at the start, I bought it cheap to see what made it tick, and I did learn a lot. I tried, and you won't know unless you try. I was amazed how well the chrome cleaned up, and you have to admit, it looks the part. Mechanically it's perfect, payouts... a problem, and as I said, electrics are not my thing and I don't know anyone who can help. Disappointing, as I've never had a 4 reel machine before and this was very cheap, so worth a try.

That's a very nice looking machine Paul and if you decide to get rid of it I may be interested in it, mainly just to have a go at getting it working as I like to have a tinker with something I haven't had before :)

I've put it on ebay but I can pull it (if ebay doesn't) if you want it.

Oh well...

At least you will save those final value fees. (Some) sellers are delighted they still get the buyer at a price they are happy and no fees, and no threat of nasty feedback if they don't drop the price for a tiny scratch here & there.

It's totally mad eBay as a Riviera was on for a week and done its course without being removed, it's obvious depending on who's selling them.

No it depends on who wants them removed. Ebay admit they need to be reported before they even look. First one I've ever had removed, I think, my own fault. I didn't use the "sold under licence number 1234" method.

Does anyone have any idea what these little plugs are for and what order they are meant to be in?

Have no idea, but have a few of these machines, but as usual will not be able to check until next time in lock up. Will check next time unless someone else responds.

Anyone have any idea what the purpose of this clock mechanism is for?
Can't work it out it doesn't seem to do anything at all, you turn it and it ticks back down to zero and stops against a peg.

The micro-switch under the metal plate marked B 11 is that effected by it?

It's a strange one bp.
The microswitch has a little push in button on the front which has to be pressed in to put power to the transformer. The black bit at the back of the switch pushes it back out. What the purpose of it is I have no idea? There is nothing to automatically press them either way.

Is it a cut off timer for the hopper to prevent it emptying out?

Not sure, but if it did somehow manage to press the switch to cut the power there is no way of resetting it again without actually pressing it. Seems a strange idea to me.

I had not got a picture yet, but remembered was asked this same question a few years back with another member having issues on a Hoots Mon. See linked below as I compared the picture to mine.
