Who is online?

Post by scorpa163 »

It has always puzzled me why there are always so many “users” online ?
I know it is the best site on the web, but so many visitors ?

Well, I'm a rather new user, but, you will always find my status as "online."

I don't sign in/out for a forum like this.

Why, you may ask?

Because I'm not worried about someone sitting down at my computer, checking into this forum, and sell my whole collection for 15 pounds or something.

Point is, the "online" status may not reflect the actual amount of people currently on the forum.

Walt in Conifer, Colorado.

P.S. How do you get the "pound" sign on a standard keyboard?

There we go "#" that's what I get.

I guess we yanks are pound poor.

Makes me feel a little like a Dickens character.

Don't some 'Yanks' call that symbol 'the pound sign', meaning a pound in weight?

Yes, we call it a "pound sign," but it also is shorthand for "number," as in "#3," which you would read as "number 3."

Example "John Smith, 2001 Blues Lane #3, Lakeside, New Jersey, 10441

That would read "unit 3" or "apartment number 3" etc.

On some US keyboard macbooks, shift will give a £ sign, but this will depend upon the keyboard settings in System Preferences.
