The Charlie Chaplin bit is taken from the film 'Easy Street' where CP as a weedy cop manages to overcome the shear brutality of the local bully by pulling down a gas lamp over the head of the bully and switching on the gas !!! The eye make-up on the bully puts Dusty Springfields eye make-up to shame.

Great film and no, I did not see it first time round !

I have one, I think they are Australian with a Mills mechanism.
