Hawtins allwin - unusual artwork

Post by polaris »

Wonder if anyone had any thoughts with regards to artwork on this Hawtins machine? I’ve always fancied one but never had the opportunity to buy. This appeared on FB recently and possibly a few members may have seen it. Artwork appears to be original although first I ever saw like this. Has anyone else ever seen this theme?

No, and looks nice. As you say, it looks like old plastic with the cracking, so either a rare version or a showman’s modification, but done well.

Looks hand painted over the original plastic and as it has not turned up before then likely a later operator mod.

Thanks for info. It’s certainly attractive and looks very well done. Here’s another picture I’ve been sent which may lend to it being an operator modification. Not so well done.

Never seen a Hawtins in other than the plain two colour backflash, suspect this is an operator or collector modification

It's missing the chute between the ball release and the coin tube.
The coin tube looks like a bog roll inner.

I couldn't figure that out either, for some reason it was turned into an operator refill instead of self refilling? That tube is far too high for any chute to get a coin there as would be almost horizontal.
