Can anyone ID these allwin tokens?

Post by coppinpr »

I've had an inquiry from a token collector(?) in, I think, the USA. He asks if anyone can shed some light on these two tokens. Both are 18mm across, so a little smaller than a 6d.

I may be wrong but I think these tokens would have been dispensed from their respective games (Bajazzo being a good example) for exchange according to the number on the token, the "10" being 10 times the value of the "1." The number on the token would correspond to the number stamped on the machine, thereby preventing a punter from bring in random tokens for redemption.

Thanks, John. I hadn't thought of the earlier allwins paying out tokens. I've never owned one.

Yes, these would be dispensed from the token tubes of, for example, a Jentzsch and Meerz Allwin De Luxe.
