CheckMate Slot Machine

I have one of these machines that the previous owner was using US Pennies in and I'd like to know what coins were actually used in the game.

I am afraid you may have to do the basics, probably from the slides and measure the height of the stack to determine what each coin thickness would be and a rough idea on diameter as these Italian Ascot machines were used in various European countries, including Italy and the U.K. You can google the size of countries coin sizes, a bit laborious, but with no coin denominator or any other indication, probably only way.

Thank you for responding. I think what I'm looking for is what countries were these machines actually in. I know they weren't in the US and I don't want to use US pennies in it. I have seen UK pennies in them and I'm sure the machines were used in Italy, but I'd be interested to find out what other countries they were in and possibly use coins from one of those countries just to make my machine unique.
Re: CheckMate Slot Machine
One other thing you can try is check under the cash tray. I did find old coins in the past beneath it.
Re: CheckMate Slot Machine
If it's in GB, the drop jackpot would suggest sixpence play.
It has the style of a 'club' machine, where such a high stake would have been usual.
Try it on tanners. It may not need any modification.

Thanks for the help. I want to think brigham is right that the machine is UK and uses sixpence coins. I had a lot of sixpence coins around from another game that uses them and they work fine. Everyone here are great people and willing to help strangers and it's a fresh breeze in today's world. Much love to all.

Re: Italian Ascot bandits
More Ascot bandits. Seems they're quite common on the Continent, and all different!
