Latest find
Some may remember a find of quite a few allwins I made a couple of years ago. I’ve just picked up five more from the same source.
2 wonders, 2 whales and (I think) a bmco. All in a suitable state of disrepair but mostly there although some nasty old woodworm in a couple of playfields.
I just need to decide whether I have the time to do the work or not. The other ones came up nice so these should too.
The bmco has an interesting very narrow track I’ve not seen before. Just a ledge really.

Re: Latest find
That's because the player's penny (or possibly ha'penny) is the projectile, rather than a ball bearing. A relatively rare machine, and certainly worth restoring, in my view.
Re: Latest find
Great find Geoff, I wonder if the 'BMCo' is actually a BMCo. The return penny holder is similar, but the flick handle is very different.
Re: Latest find
Ahhhhh interesting. I haven’t opened it yet so hadn’t noticed the difference but that makes sense now. Looking at the width of the win slots I think it must be ha’pennies. Never seen one like that. Any idea of and links to pics of working ones?
The playfield is totally eaten by worm so will need replacing but very doable. Just need some time…..!

Re: Latest find
Hi geoff, I followed your first thread where you found (was it?) 25 allwins.
And I now see you've tripped over five more.
I was just wondering, could you stop doing that please?

Re: Latest find
Ha ha. Yes I got lucky. The first 23 have all gone their way now. I restored about half and sold the others on as projects for others to enjoy as I was tight for space. I’ve only kept one in the end due to lack of space. I fancy restoring these ones but I need to find a time window….!
I have had my interest piqued by the BMCo., as I’ve never done one that fires the coin before. I also love doing the Wonders ones. They come up really nicely when you replace the yellowed acetate sheet over the backflash.
I’ll need to find a new pay cup for one of the Wonders though as its missing and get hold of some oak for the cabinet repairs.
Anyone got a spare Wonders pay cup to sell?!

Re: Latest find
If this is indeed a BMCo machine, I'd suggest pretty early - late 1920s? But I find myself siding with Argee's suggestion that it might not be BMCo, in which case it could be earlier. There's certainly much about its appearance that doesn't exactly shout BMCo. It would be really helpful if we could see inside.
Re: Latest find
Thanks. I'll definitely come back with some internal pics once open. Might be a few weeks though as it’s now buried in the ‘pending’ pile!

Re: Latest find
Thanks for the offer. I think I may have a cup myself without surround but need to check. Let you know if needed. Cheers.
Re: Latest find
Geoff, here is a very early penny projectile machine, the owner tells me that it is circa 1900, hence the name.
Re: Latest find
Thanks. Tracks look similar but the win cups look more like the other two posted. Interesting puzzle!
