Firman Pushapenny identified?

Post by ddstoys »

Purchased a penny patience playfield last weekend. The owner also has this which I couldn’t resist. Now it’s home I’m even more excited about this bargain than what I actually bought.

Not sure what it’s called. Closest I could find in the gallery is a Treff.

Just a small job :HaHa:

Almost certainly German and I am sure you have trawled through the site below, but closest I came was a Olympia by Jentzsch and Meerz 1930, there are two models, one pictured…….but so many look similar from other companies !PUZZLED!

I too have "Unknown Projects"
It's unknown: -
... when I bought them
... why I bought them
... who from
... where the bits I removed are
... what I was thinking

They made 2 versions of the Olympia, the I and the II. Problem is, yours has differences from the I (I think they always had 6 holes on the gallery (as far as I know) and yours has 5, and the token channels on yours seem rounded and they are sharp on the I). Unfortunately, I don't think there are any photos of the II, so it could be Jentzsch und Meerz (a II perhaps) or it could be a clone which would be common in Germany at the time.

I bet you remember how much you paid for them though

Hey.

I don't think that your playfield is from an "Olympia" (Jentzsch & Meerz). The "Olympia" has a different playing field and also looks significantly different from the back.

This is the "Olympia I" with 6 holes:

And here is the "Olympia II" with 5 holes:

The "Olympia" was copied en masse in various variants by Czech factories in the late 1920s and early 1930s.
Here you can find some pictures of those machines:

Maybe your playfield is from a czech machine.

Only observation on Pushapenny is the advert and Henry Powell’s machine has a coin exit hole in the playfield centre top, which is not in above one !PUZZLED!
