Re: Rippyspennyarcade videos gone?
I have had a word with Robert. He tells me that he has taken down all his old videos from Youtube (but thankfully still has them all stored on disks at home). He will be putting new ones up as he makes them. Hopefully someone will then link them to the Pennymachines site as they are made live to Youtube and maybe a few more kind comments might not go amiss. He puts a lot of effort into this hobby.

Re: Rippyspennyarcade videos gone?
Thanks for the update. Unfortunately, I've had no luck finding his videos searching google and youtube, probably because most are now deleted. Could you post a link to his channel?
I'm sorry all the old ones are removed.
Did Robert say why he's made his remaining videos unembeddable?

Re: Rippyspennyarcade videos gone?
I have over 40 videos on YouTube and don’t get many positive comments, but just don’t care, just keep sticking them on with the horrible music I add
Re: Rippyspennyarcade videos gone?
Picking up on slotalots comments above and adding to my comment, I thought I would go back to the post Rob had added for his La Ronde post three years ago below and concern about appreciation and see the comments added by many to the thread at that time…….effort by all to these community forums and video sites is used by many, even if they never admit to it, show appreciation or add value back themselves. But if it were not for the few, there would be nothing…….. so keep it up and hopefully maybe Kevin who posted the original videos being an admin could help with the links

Re: Rippyspennyarcade videos gone?
I have always enjoyed making these videos but I also enjoy plenty of comments , On 23rd August 2022 I put a video on of a VERY RARE machine which I doubt many of you had ever seen let alone to see the machine in working order , Over 2 months later and , NOT ONE COMMENT, on my you tube channel I get plenty of comments , So I will be still doing videos but they will only be available on my you tube channel, If members on here are really that interested then they can view my latest videos on there , I have been thinking about this for some time and the Brenco Swinging Swinger video made up my mind for me regarding this site, I have tried to DELETE my account but couldn't , so if one of the mods can do that for me then that's fine , Rippyspennyarcade.

Hi Rob, I fully understand where you are coming from with regards to your decision, and as you are one of the few genuine collectors on the pennymachines site I will be sorry to see you go from here, I am sure we will be able to keep in touch in other ways as we have in the past.
regards Stuart.

Re: Rippyspennyarcade videos gone?
Hello Rob, I hope you're keeping well.
I'm sorry the world is ignoring your champion efforts; your videos are without doubt the peak of what's available.
I assure you it is nothing to do with you, the world has definitely moved on over the last few years.
Luckily, we have had newcomers join the hobby as the "old guard" is getting a bit thin on the ground or in my case going Ga-Ga. The learning curve for slotty newcomers is enormous, the amount of machines, how they work, how to repair them, how to identify if a machine is complete and who are the fellow collectors that specialise in what and are trustworthy. Quite a daunting amount to learn for a newcomer.
Certainly, if I were dipping my feet into something I was just interested in I'd sit back and observe what was what before raising my head above the parapet. Perhaps that's what's happening.
I also think world issues over the last few years have affected just about everybody everywhere,
And then consider this hobby no longer has a UK magazine or Coventry type auctions to keep contact ticking over.
I hope you stay well and we still email during the year as we've been doing for years now.

Re: Rippyspennyarcade videos gone?
Considering how little Youtube content there is for old slots, especially British ones, I find Rob's & Tom's videos very enjoyable.
Always brightens up a boring night at work.

I feel sad to be losing such an enthusiastic and fun contributor to the site and I'll miss your iconic videos which always make me smile, tune in and watch!
You make it look so natural and easy to make, and yet there really is an art to doing it well and delivering in the engaging way you do, one of my favourites being your 'Wheel of Fortune' demonstration. So many more too.
There are always the 'givers' and the 'takers', and the 'can't be arsed to comment, but still want to watch'.
It's nice to be appreciated and I think for the majority of members of this site you really are, even if they don't tell you so.
