If Allan was still working, I would have bid on this straight away.
Do we know anyone else who could collect it?

I have a 'new money' arcade to house my early-70s electro-mechanical machines. It has a bar in it, even though I don't drink.

The machine reached £111 on ebay, at which point the seller removed it and it was sold off ebay. I'm pleased someone recognised its potential and another machine was saved.

Out of 200 coins played: e.g. 50 per each coin entry (×4) the machine provided 4 wins each, accompanied by buzzer.

No manufacturer or supplier details inside the machine.

The win ratio is interesting. 1 win every 12.5p played... exactly the price of a pint. I'm actually surprised the machine was not a success. Looking at it again, am I right in thinking it's not really that big?

I think that should be 1 win for every 25p played. That would be twice the price of a pint.

Of course, for some reason, I was thinking it was a 1p play, which of course it never would be. Getting too old. :o

Spoke to my Dad (Ian Jamieson) about this "Win a Pint Bitter" machine and unfortunately he has no recollection of ever making a machine like this. Might be someone else’s diy machine?

What a pity. With a bit of the Jamieson expertise and flair I think a machine like that would have been a success!
